Visitors can take a boat ride on the Nile and a short hike to the top of the rocks to view the magnificent falls and capture photos of Uganda’s stunning natural beauty.

Itinerary

Day 1: Journey to Murchison Falls National Park for Rhino Tracking and a Night Game Drive

After being picked up from the airport in the morning, your safari guide will take you on a drive through Entebbe, a town with beautiful beaches and views of Lake Victoria. From there, you will continue to Kampala and then head to the Kampala-Gulu highway. Along the way, you will stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino trekking and have lunch. After lunch, you will continue to Murchison Falls National Park, where you will check into your lodge. In the evening, you may have the option to go on a night game drive to see nocturnal animals, although this activity is only available to those 16 years of age or older.

Day 2: Go on a Game Drive and Discover the Wonders of the Nile

Begin your day with a thrilling early morning game drive through Murchison Falls National Park, where you will see a variety of animals such as leopards, elephants, warthogs, buffalos, lions, and giraffes as they awaken to the sounds of birds filling the air. As the sun rises, the park comes to life before your eyes.

After the game drive, you can enjoy a delicious lunch at the Paraa restaurant before embarking on a boat ride along the Great Nile River. As you sail, you will have the opportunity to see hippos, elephants, waterbucks, and crocodiles as they drink and bathe at the shore. Later, you can take a hike to the top of the falls to see the stunning rainbow and watch the Great Nile River flow away from you. If you wish, you can also request to go white water rafting on the Nile.

Day 3: Explore the Beauty of Nature on a Guided Walk and Transfer to Entebbe Airport

Rise early for a nature walk along the trails and pathways of Murchison Falls National Park, where you will be surrounded by the sounds of chirping birds, small animals like frogs and chameleons, and the lush green vegetation. Take the time to fully observe and appreciate the gifts of nature.

After your walk, you will check out of your lodge and begin the drive back to either Kampala or Entebbe, as advised by your safari guide/driver. You may have the opportunity to stop and purchase items from vendors along the way if desired.

Expectations

A 3 day safari to Murchison Falls National Park in Uganda offers an exciting opportunity to witness the diverse and abundant wildlife and plant life in the park. Located in the country known as the “Pearl of Africa,” Murchison Falls is the main attraction of the park and is a must-see for any visitor.

On the first day of your safari, you will likely embark on a game drive through the park to see a variety of animals such as giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, and lions. You may also have the chance to spot rarer species such as leopards and rhinos. In the afternoon, you can take a boat ride along the Nile River to see more animals and birds up close.

On the second day, you can embark on a hike to the top of the falls to see the magnificent Murchison Falls, which is where the Nile River narrows and plunges into a deep gorge. The view from the top is breathtaking and provides a great opportunity to take photos. In the afternoon, you can visit one of the local villages to learn about the culture and way of life of the people living in the area.

On the third day, you may have the option to go on a chimpanzee trek in the Budongo Forest, which is home to a large population of chimpanzees. You can also visit the Karuma Falls or go on a nature walk to see more of the park’s diverse plant life.
