Itinerary

Day 1 - 2: Queen Elizabeth National Park, Lion Tracking, and Boat Cruise

AA Safaris provides a complete tour experience for those visiting Queen Elizabeth National Park, beginning with a warm welcome and airport pickup by one of their guides. Your tour will start in Entebbe, where you will have the chance to see the shores of Lake Victoria and enjoy the breeze as you pass by local beaches. You will then take the newly constructed highway to the capital city of Uganda, arriving in just 10 minutes.

From there, you will embark on a 5-6 hour journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, you will make a stop at the equator for a photo opportunity and a chance to shop for souvenirs at the nearby arts and crafts stores. When you arrive at your preferred accommodation, you will check in, have lunch, and prepare for an evening game drive where you will see many of the animals as they prepare to rest for the night.

The next morning, you will have the opportunity to go on a game drive to track the tree-climbing lions as they wake up, hunt, and lounge in the savannah. You will also have the chance to see other animals such as caracal cats, leopards, hippos, buffaloes, kobs, and elephants. After returning to your lodge for brunch, you will head out to explore the Kazinga Channel on a boat cruise, where you will see a variety of bird species and wild game drinking, bathing, and grazing along the shores. You will have the opportunity to take beautiful photos from the boat as you pass by the shores. In the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner and a good night’s rest.

Day 3 - 4: Chimpanzee Trekking and Mountain Gorilla Tracking at Bwindi Impenetrable Park

After waking up to a healthy meal, you will go chimpanzee trekking at Kyambura gorge. This stunning location is home to chimpanzees and features a cave-like gorge formed by thickly dense trees. After a briefing from your guide, you will begin the trek, which can last anywhere from two to seven hours. It is important to wear appropriate clothing and gear for the trek, including hiking boots, a walking stick, thick gloves, and long pants to protect yourself from muddy and slippery ground and thorny plants along the trail.

After the trek, you will start the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will spend the night. The next morning, you will have a heavy breakfast before being driven to the trekking assembly point for a briefing and division into groups. You will meet your guide and begin the mountain gorilla trek, which is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. As with the chimpanzee trek, it is important to wear appropriate clothing and gear and remember to stay hydrated. You should also refrain from feeding the gorillas, mimicking their sounds, or using flash photography when taking photos.

After the trek, you will have the opportunity to visit the local community outside the park and learn about the rich culture of the Batwa people through their art, crafts, music, dance, and folklore.
