The main idea for introduction of the Lonyiri nature walk is to capture the imagination and creativity of tourists by giving them a particular pursuit when involved in a nature walk. You will see some of the 470 bird species residing here like the silver bird, Yellow-billed Shrike, Hoopoe, Mosque Swallow, Nubian woodpecker, little Weaver among others. Then the second activity for the day is a community walk to see the Karamojong in their way of life; manyatta homesteads which are their temporary houses, see their beautiful bright colored clothes and adornments ( necklaces, earrings, headgear, bangles, bracelets) plus you can buy a shuka (traditional cloth that makes traditional Karamojong swinging skirts)and crafts like the sitting stool that is sat on by men only.
