Trail through the forests of Rabongo and Pabidi that will open for you sightings of birds like the Shoebill, Puvel’s Illaposis (found in no other place throughout the whole of East Africa) the Chocolate Backed Kingfisher in addition to the White thighed Hornbill and many primates like chimpanzees, white and black Colobus monkeys, baboons, red tailed monkeys. Pabidi forest is a natural forest covered majorly by huge mahogany trees plus ironwood trees where Chimpanzees may be tracked from the Kaniyo Pabidi tourism site that is managed by the Jane Goodall Institute. You can also choose to picnic or even camp by the shores of the stunning river Wairingo. It offers a diversity of bird species, trees in addition to medicinal plants which are all worth exploring.
Take part in an early morning game drive through the park. The park is home to 76 mammal species with four members of the big five, the lion, the leopards, the elephants, and the Buffaloes. Other species include bushbucks, Uganda kob, water bucks and warthogs, giraffes, Jackson’s hartebeest, hyenas etc. Along the shores of the Nile and within the waters you will see lots of hippos and crocodiles among other resident creatures. There also several primates in the Murchison falls national park including baboons and several monkey species. These you will definitely see during the drive.
Enjoy sport fishing where you will catch either Nile perch or tilapia or tiger fish or cat fish. Try to beat the record largest Nile perch of 113 kgs that landed at the water pool opposite the crocodile pool.
Then relax on a boat ride on the Nile as birds are seen on shrubs, animals like crocodile, hippos sit in the water, some animals like buffaloes, hyenas come to drink at the shores. You might be lucky to see a crocodile attack its prey.
