Highlights

What you'll experience

  • Push through dripping hagenia forest until the canopy parts and a silverback turns to regard you with complete indifference. Your hour with the group passes in absolute silence on your part and absolute noise on theirs — infants tumbling, leaves tearing, the low chest-beat that settles the air.

  • The channel linking Lakes George and Edward is one of Africa's great wildlife corridors from the water. Nile crocodiles drape themselves along the banks, African fish eagles call overhead, and pods of hippopotamus surface close enough to the bow that you can hear their breath.

  • Queen Elizabeth's southern Ishasha sector is one of the few places where lions have learned to drape themselves in fig trees — a behaviour researchers still debate. Game drives here have the unhurried quality of searching for something you almost can't believe exists.

  • As the light goes amber over the explosion craters of the Albertine Rift, your guide sets out two chairs and cold drinks at a viewpoint that other guests rarely reach. No commentary needed — the view manages everything.

  • Bwindi's 350-plus bird species include the African green broadbill and Shelley's crimsonwing — both restricted to the Albertine Rift. Your guide, Samuel Kamya, has been running these forest edges for fourteen years and picks calls out of the canopy chorus before you've even raised your binoculars.

Why choose us

Why choose a Private Journey?

A honeymoon works best when the planning disappears and only the experience remains. Here is how we make that happen.

Fully Private, No Shared Vehicles

Every game drive, transfer, and boat cruise is yours alone. Your guide sets the pace and the route around what you are seeing, not around a group schedule.

Guides Who Know When to Be Quiet

Our field team averages eleven years leading in these specific ecosystems. They know the difference between a sighting that needs narration and one that simply needs space.

Itinerary Built Around Two People

We adjust wake-up times, pacing, and add-ons based on what you tell us matters most — whether that means an extra hour in the forest or a private dinner on the crater rim.
