Highlights

What you'll experience

  • Lake Mburo is Uganda's only park where Burchell's zebra roam freely alongside impala, topi, and the occasional leopard threading through the fever trees. Evening game drives often end with the sky turning copper above the lake.

  • A flat-bottomed boat putters along the 32-km channel linking Lakes George and Edward. Hippos surface at arm's length, African fish eagles call overhead, and great white pelicans drift in slow formation past wallowing buffalo.

  • In the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, lions are famously fond of sprawling in the broad branches of fig trees. Locating a tail dangling from a canopy is one of those moments where conversation simply stops.

  • Between Lake Mburo's papyrus fringes and Queen Elizabeth's open floodplains, the bird list climbs fast. Watch for the African finfoot at water's edge, lilac-breasted rollers on every dead branch, and the shoebill in the Katunguru swamp if you time the morning well.

  • After dark the park shifts register entirely. Genets ghost along the track, African civets rootle in the verge, and spotted hyenas trot with purpose toward the channel. A good spotlight and a quiet engine make all the difference.

Why choose us

Why choose a Small Group Journey?

This safari strips the itinerary back to what matters: animals, open space, and guides who know both parks well enough to read where the leopard went last night.

Two Parks, One Compact Drive

Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth sit on the same southwest Uganda corridor. There are no domestic flights, no long bush airstrips — just road travel that passes through real Ugandan countryside at a pace slow enough to see it.

Small Groups, Better Sightings

With a maximum of eight guests in one vehicle, there's room to move, room to whisper, and no queuing at a sighting while four other vans jockey for position. The animals notice the difference too.

Honest Budget, No Compromises on Wildlife

Budget doesn't mean skipping the Kazinga Channel cruise or cutting the Ishasha lion drive short. It means choosing clean, well-run camps over marble lobbies — and spending the savings on another morning in the field.
