Highlights

What you'll experience

  • The female spring — Nyansimbi — erupts roughly every 25 minutes, sending a column of steam high above the riverside forest. Your guide reads the timing and you reach the boardwalk just as the ground begins to tremble beneath your boots.

  • Over 400 species have been recorded here, many of them Congolese lowland specialists found nowhere else in East Africa. At dawn the African piculet taps just above your head while a white-crested hornbill moves through the mid-storey like a low-flying kite.

  • Semuliki's forest is an eastern finger of the great Congo Basin. On foot with a ranger you read the signs: chimpanzee bark-marks, red-tailed monkey alarm calls, the pressed-grass beds where forest buffalo rested overnight.

  • The open floodplain of the Toro-Semuliki Wildlife Reserve borders the park and holds Uganda kob, oribi, and Nile crocodile. Late afternoon light turns the Semliki River gold and the grass short enough to spot elephants moving down to drink.

  • A short drive from the park gate, a Batwa community keeps the knowledge of the forest alive through guided walks, traditional fire-making, and storytelling that covers centuries of life under the same canopy you walked through this morning.

Why choose us

Why choose a Private Journey?

3 Days Semuliki National Park Safari Uganda offers an incredible combination of chimpanzee trekking, bird watching, rainforest exploration, wildlife viewing, and natural hot springs, making it an excellent safari choice for travelers seeking an authentic Uganda wildlife experience.

Specialist Ranger-Naturalists

Your guide is a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger trained specifically in Semuliki's Albertine endemic species. When you ask why the African piculet pecks only the dead branches of Cynometra trees, you will get a real answer.

Genuinely Private Travel

The vehicle and the guide are exclusively yours. No sharing a bus with strangers, no waiting for a group consensus at the hot springs. The pace is set by your curiosity.

Low Footprint, High Gain

Semuliki sees a fraction of the visitor numbers of Bwindi or Queen Elizabeth. Arrive Africa's community contribution goes directly to the Batwa liaison programme at the park boundary, supporting the families who once lived under this canopy.
