Highlights

What you'll experience

  • Uganda Wildlife Authority trackers lead you to a habituated gorilla group — perhaps the Rushegura or Mubare family — and you spend one full hour observing silverbacks, mothers, and juveniles at close range in their natural habitat.

  • At the UWA briefing centre, the Batwa — the forest's original inhabitants — perform traditional songs and dances. It's a grounding reminder that Bwindi's story belongs to people as much as primates.

  • After the trek, Uganda Wildlife Authority issues a personalised certificate confirming that you encountered an endangered mountain gorilla in the wild — a meaningful record of a real conservation encounter.

  • On the afternoon of Day 2, a community guide walks you through the terraced fields and homesteads that border the park, explaining how local families and gorillas share the same watershed.

  • The seven-hour road from Kampala crosses the equator and climbs into tea-green highlands. It's a journey through Uganda's interior that most visitors fly over — and one worth taking slowly.

  • Mountain gorilla trekking experience

Why choose us

Why choose a Private Journey?

Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Safari? Bwindi Impenetrable National Park offers one of the world’s most extraordinary wildlife experiences. Combining mountain gorilla trekking, rainforest exploration, cultural encounters, and spectacular scenery, this safari creates unforgettable memories while supporting wildlife conservation and local communities in Uganda.

Private, Guided, Unhurried

Your vehicle, your guide, your pace. We don't combine you with strangers on the road or rush the afternoon community walk to fit a group schedule.

Guides Who Know the Forest

Our lead guide, Enock Mudde, has tracked gorillas in Bwindi for over a decade. He reads the forest floor — broken stems, knuckle prints, the smell of fresh dung — and gets you to the family efficiently and calmly.

Conservation Woven In

A portion of every gorilla permit fee goes directly to Uganda Wildlife Authority's mountain gorilla conservation programme. The community walk on Day 2 also channels fees to the local households that buffer the park.
